Delphinium | Original Gouache Floral Painting
I love the feeling of walking through a meadow of grasses and wildflowers. As a child, I would wander through my grandmother’s fields and pick bouquets of wildflowers for my own mom.
Delphinium is one of my very favourites! With such tall, bright, and wild flowers. This flower grows along the borders of my grass. I love to watch the bees and hummingbirds enjoy the nectar, and watch it blow in the breeze.
This painting first began with a sketch, a transparent layer of watercolour, layers upon layers of gouache to get the colours just right, and then an ink sketch to complete the painting.
