It has been such a joy to create this collection of work. Creating paintings inspired by reference photos that have been collected from years past. I have drawn on my reserve of peace that only comes through nature and poured it into these paintings. Peaceful, meditative, restful joy.

There are so many places in the world that just feel safe. A personal sanctuary from the storm, quite literally in the storm.
For me, this has always been at the waters edge. No matter if it’s a river, lake, or ocean, I’ve always felt peace and tranquility near the water, during the storm.
The storm of uncertainty that we are all experiencing right now during this pandemic. Safe together. Safe apart. Near the waters edge.

Trees heavy with moisture.
The clouds dispersing.
A haze floating away.
The scent intoxicating.
The earth completely refreshed.
All you want to do is BREATHE DEEPLY.
This is the feeling I have encapsulated in the Atmosphere Collection; the feeling of a new hope for spring, a glorious rebirth and renewal. Something to look forward to. Something we all need at this time in our lives.
Living in nature has provided such a refuge for me and my boys. So much peace. So much serenity. From my home in the forests of Redwood Meadows, like a breath of fresh air, I’m so honoured to share this collection with you.

I personally love to embrace the gloom of the morning fog and the way it softens the landscape, while also celebrating the warmth of the bright evening sunshine and the beauty it casts on everything, soaking the earth in a golden glow just before the sound dips below the ocean horizon.
These little paintings feel almost like a journal entry, capturing a specific time and place, and the memory of being with the one's you love most.

While I wouldn’t say that the Southern California Coast has a great variety of weather, there seems to be a daily ebb and flow in the way the fog rolls in and off the coastline. I personally love to embrace the gloom of the morning fog and the way it softens the landscape, while also celebrating the warmth of the bright evening sunshine and the beauty it casts on everything, soaking the earth in a golden glow just before the sound dips below the ocean horizon.

While visiting Joshua Tree National Park I was captivated and awestruck by the vast colours of the Mojave Desert, even in winter. I spent most of my time in the quiet solitude of the desert, exploring and capturing some of the most beautiful reference photos.
I truly hope you can feel the joy of play and the buzz of excitement that I've poured into this new body of work. I enjoyed the process of experimentation - not taking things so seriously and elevating the finished work to the next level of beauty. It's honestly been so refreshing.
