My fondest childhood memories are of summer road trips in an orange VW Westafalia driving through the winding mountains to an off-grid, boat access only cabin on a beautiful remote lake in British Columbia. These vacations were full of 80's nostalgia including, cedar planked walls, flannel couches, bunk rooms for the kids, in a cabin with no tv, or electricity for that matter.
Each day was spent swimming in the lake and waterskiing with friends. Nights were spent stargazing while sitting around a fire, playing card games until the gas lamps flickered. The reckless bravery of cliff jumping during golden hour, and the joy of endless time spent with best friends and family.
Canada's rugged West Coast holds this same sense of nostalgia for me. Magic found in ever-changing light reflecting off the ocean, the scent of the lush forest bathed in rainwater, and rugged rocky trails covered in the security of towering cedar trees.
This collection has been such a joy to create! I've spent quiet time in the studio creating these large watercolour paintings over the last six months. Returning to them when I've felt inspired and in need of a fully immersed expression of joy. Layers of transparent washy watercolours dancing across torn pages of cotton paper in full-body brushstrokes. The size of these paintings has been both a challenge and a deeply restorative process to create.

Each of these were painted slowly and restfully through play and experimentation, as each painting emerged layer by washy layer, through gestural brushstrokes in watercolour.
They each capture the unique beauty of Canada's wild West Coast in it's ever-changing climate. From rain-soaked beaches, foggy bays, and vibrant sunsets.

It's difficult to know how to sensitively run a heart-centred small business in our very connected world. As one person, I can't do much to change the circumstances of those who are suffering, but I do believe in the healing power of art and creativity. My goal in this space to fill your life with beauty, joy, and hope, to remind you of the abundant peace found in nature. We need to take care of ourselves and each other, to fill our days with joy, and to create a home that is a safe space from the outside world.
