“Cox Bay Lookout” Watercolor Landscape Art Print

Just as September brought the rhythm of routine and stability, October brought chaos and unpredictability. Alberta public schools went on strike and my children were home with me for three and a half whole weeks, without the ability to really work on their school responsibilities, or the freedom to escape on summer vacation. It's funny to see the different personalities of my children during this time. One of my boys shaved his head, painted his room and spent most of his time rotting in bed. The other one went for a cold plunge in the river almost every day, build a fort in the woods, and read about 8 books. My youngest tried to sneak screen time almost every hour of the day, tagged along outside with his older brother, and my house was a complete disaster! My oldest boys are both in grade 12, and it will definitely be stressful for them to complete all of their work.

I'm patting myself on the back because even with the uprooting of my work schedule, I was able to release The Wild Pacific Collection, and a new print! I'm counting it a big win.

This poem feels so appropriate for this season of my life right now. Maybe it should feel this way forever.

“Clearing”

by Martha Postlethwaite

Do not try to serve

the whole world

or do anything grandiose.

Instead, create

a clearing

in the dense forest

of your life

and wait there

patiently,

until the song

that is yours alone to sing

falls into your open cupped hands

and you recognize and greet it.

Only then will you know

how to give yourself

to the world

so worthy of rescue.

November is a notoriously busy month in and out of the studio, so this newsletter will be packed with important information and dates.

Availability for each of these items is limited and should be considered quickly before the rush of the holiday season. It's the perfect time to stock up on cards for the holiday's. You can find a collection of my greeting cards here: (click on the image below)

“Lost in this Moment”

Venturing to the Coast brings a sense of nostalgic energy. Magic found in ever-changing light reflecting off the pacific ocean, searching for sea creatures in endless tide pools, listening to soft, rhythmic waves, the scent of the lush forest bathed in rainwater, and rugged rocky trails covered in the security of towering cedar trees.

Sweet, blissful peace that can only be found in nature. These are the feelings I wish to share with you and your sacred spaces. This painting was created to reflect the blissful peace felt tucked away in the security of Canada’s West Coast. This is my interpretation of the vibrant sunsets on the coastal region of Tofino, BC.

November's Featured Print:

"Cox Bay Lookout"

This print was inspired by the Cox Bay Lookout in Tofino, BC. This print holds the quiet peace and solitude of a vibrant sunset from a coastal mountain view. As the sun dips low, casting golden light and long shadows, a cool ocean breeze carries the calm of the coast—inviting you to pause, breathe, and bask in awe. This piece was painted to evoke peace, warmth, and the quiet joy of the Canadian West Coast.

Art has a way of capturing a place in time, transporting you to a specific location, offering reverence to nature's beauty, and bringing nature's abundant peace and calm into your personal sanctuary.

Please put in your orders early to allow for longer shipping times this time of year, and with the change in duties/tariffs, as well as the extended Canada Post Strike.  Fortunately artwork continues to ship duty free, and I have other shipping alternatives to Canada Post. It's not easy running a small business in this ever changing political climate.

Thank you for sticking with me to the end. I hope this wasn't too overwhelming. I'll be in touch with details for each exciting offer soon!

I look forward to the hustle and bustle preparing for the holiday season and sharing so many beautiful things with you. Thank you for allowing me the space and ability to support my family with the things I create.

I wish you the best this season. Thank you for your abundant support!

xo, Rebecca
