I love the feeling of walking through a meadow of grasses and wildflowers. As a child, I would wander through my grandmother’s fields and pick bouquets of wildflowers for my own mom.
Clover is not really a plant you would typically consider a wildflower, but I love the bright colours it adds to a meadow, and the sweet smell it offers. Its also perfect for making flower crowns.
This painting first began with a sketch, a transparent layer of watercolour, layers upon layers of gouache to get the colours just right, and then an ink sketch to complete the painting.
