Crossing the Shore | Original Watercolour Birch Painting

CA$60.00
Sold

The Birch Collection is the perfect marriage of art and nature. Human and earth. Perfectly gnarled, weathered wood created over decades by creatures, birds, lichen, and moss. All from one small seed.

Original watercolour paintings created to adore Mother Nature.

The paintings in this collection are titled after this original poem:

"Winter's last light.

Snowflakes drifting down,

The crunch of soft snow.

Cracking of ice,

Crossing the shore.

Can you see my breath?

As I glide down the river.

So calm and so quiet,

Reflections in the snow.

Earth's long, weary rest."

Each piece is created by painting an original winter landscape scene on watercolour paper. Next I carefully cut them out, mount each piece on a 1" birch slab, and press them for hours. Finally I carefully trim each piece to expose the beautiful birch wood underneath.

Each painting comes titled and signed, varnished and ready to be hung.

Did I mention, they also make uniquely perfect gifts. ;)

“Crossing the Shore” small original watercolour painting on 140lb pure cotton archival watercolour paper, adhered to 1” thick dried birch slab.

$60 CAD

Ready to be shipped and hung in your home. Shipping Available Worldwide from Canada. If you are located in the Calgary area, choose Local Pickup at checkout to arrange a pickup time.

I’ve been working on a new collection of originals inspired by Canada’s West Coast in Tofino. If you’re in love with Tofino just as much as I am and would like to collect one of these originals, comment ME, and I’ll add you to
Confession: I’ve been a professional artist for almost six years, and I still don’t sell something everyday. In fact, the selling itself still feels gross to me. I don’t say this for pity, but rather for accountability.
