About Rebecca Sobbi

I’m a landscape artist and educator living west of Calgary, Alberta, nestled in the forests near the Canadian Rockies.

From my home studio, surrounded by spruce trees and the joyful energy of my three boys, I create watercolor and oil paintings that reflect the stillness and wonder of the natural world.

My art is for those who long for quiet moments, the hush of nature at dusk, or the golden stillness of a memory.

Landscape paintings that don’t just depict places—they invite you back into your own sense of wonder.

Rebecca Sobbi - Landscape Artist in a beautiful mountain scene in Alberta

My work is rooted in a lifelong devotion to beauty, both seen and felt. Whether I’m painting the mist rolling through alpine valleys or the play of sunlight over the ocean, I aim to capture more than scenery. My paintings are invitations to remember: the hush of wild places, the way light stirs memory, and the peace that comes from truly seeing nature’s beauty.

I grew up in a creative home where I was encouraged to explore, imagine, and make. From early childhood sketchbooks filled with ideas, to oil paintings created with my mother’s college art supplies, onto my daily devotion to creativity and exploration, art has always been my language.

I returned to it professionally in 2019 as I discovered a love of watercolor—a medium that allowed my practice to evolve alongside motherhood. Today, I work full-time as a professional artist, creating landscapes inspired by land and sea in watercolor and oil paints. I print all of my work in-house using archival processes, creating museum-quality fine art prints alongside my original paintings. Each piece is made, packaged, and shipped with care from the same home where my family gathers, a space where art and life are truly entwined. I feel so blessed to watch my childhood dreams unfold in this deep honour of daily creative work.

My collectors tell me my work brings a sense of calm, nostalgia, and connection into their homes. That is my greatest hope: that through this work, you too will find a moment of stillness; an echo of the wild, quiet beauty that first called me to paint.
